For the period 2010 - 2020 years. Organization of SAARC will be a number of projects of regional and global importance.
These projects include: environmental protection, construction of roads and railways, providing the region's population with drinking water. Of great importance is attached to energy issues, particularly the issue of a broader use of alternative energy sources such as solar and wind energy.
The summit was requested to urgently find a solution to the problem of efficient use of water resources in the region. It was also suggested to improve the water management of water basin, to carry out continuous monitoring of the melting of glaciers and the preservation of water balance in the region. Solving these problems will resolve the issue of food security in South Asia. The issue of combating poverty is very important for South Asia.
Food security of countries - participants of the SAARC is closely associated with the development of agriculture. SAARC countries in the region calls for active cooperation in trade and other flour products of agriculture, establishment of joint ventures in agriculture. Implementation of these projects will help South Asian countries to raise the level of economic development in the region. However, the successful implementation of these projects is possible only with strong financial and technical support from sponsors and the presence of reliable and permanent sources of electricity.
At the 16th Summit also addressed the issue of terrorism. Countries - participants were invited to intensify the struggle against all forms of terrorism, including drug trafficking and illegal arms trade.
